Armacell BIM Insulation Tool overlay
Introduction
Save valuable time by designing pipe and duct insulation with Armacell's latest BIM overlay. Once the insulation is configured, it is automatically added to the piping and ductwork in your BIM model. The new overlay now allows you to define multilayer insulation and automatically adjust the insulation thickness if the external diameters of the pipelines change. What's more, you can use it to generate a bill of materials (BOM), a complete insulation specification for pipes, ducts and fittings.

'Building 4.0' solutions ensure higher design security, process optimisation, higher efficiency and consideration of sustainability. With the involvement of IT companies, major manufacturers are developing tools to design their products using Building Information Modelling (BIM). Promoting innovation in the technical insulation segment, we offer an overlay that will enable the digital design of technical insulation materials for building equipment. In the US market, we made BIM objects available for Autodesk Revit® as early as 2011. Since 2015, we have been the first manufacturer of flexible insulation materials in the UK to make BIM objects freely available for download from the NBS National BIM Library portal. Now we are taking it a step further and presenting an overlay for Autodesk Revit® to digitally design technical insulation materials for building equipment. Our BIM overlay is available in all European languages and national users will automatically receive data in their language. The overlay works on Windows 7, 8 and 10 and with Revit versions 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
